Chespin is the star of the upcoming Pokémon GO Community Day event, but can you catch a Shiny Chespin?

As we get closer to the first Pokémon GO Community Day of 2023, many players might wonder what they can expect from the event, including which Pokémon will be featured. It has been announced that Chespin will be the focus of this Community Day, but more important is whether it will be available in its Shiny form.

This article will answer whether Trainers can snag a Shiny Chespin during the next Pokémon GO Community Day and discuss any bonuses and extra perks available during the event.

Is Chespin Shiny In Pokémon GO Community Day?

So let's cut straight to the chase. Yes, Chespin will be Shiny during the Pokémon Go Community Day event. Moreover,  the normal version of Chespin will also appear more frequently during the event starting on the 7th of January 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time.

Along with the arrival of Chespin and its Shiny form, players can also evolve Quilladin—Chespin’s Evolution—into Chesnaught between 2:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. local time to get a Chesnaught that knows the Charged Attack "Frenzy Plant" which usually requires an Elite TM.

Better still, there will also be some awesome bonuses for players to pick up as they play through the event and try to catch a Chespin which we've listed below.

For those Trainers who don't get a chance to catch a Chespin or want to know an easier way to find the Pokémon aside from grinding, you have another option. There will be a 4-Star Raid from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. local time that features Quilladin as the raid boss. After defeating it, Chespin will spawn near the Gym for 30 minutes. But note that you can't invite friends to join you with Remote Raid Passes, unfortunately.

That's everything you need to know about Shiny Chespin in Pokémon GO.
